When these two have sung hundreds of songs and made music about love, how do they actually make a day dedicated to love even more special?
As a singer, Julie Anne says that a touch of music can make February 14 even more memorable. “We all have that specific song that we can associate to whatever moment in our life. I think Valentine’s Day would more special if we celebrate it with a song. Music just makes moments more memorable.”
Elmo, on the other hand, prefers to keep it simple. “A simple dinner with your significant other and her family, I think that’s already something special. But why just celebrate on Feb. 14 when you can make every day Valentine’s Day?”
The singer-actress agreed: “I believe you can only truly love and keep the Valentine’s spirit alive when you don’t limit yourself to appreciating others only on Feb. 14.”
As a Valentine’s treat, the two also made their “JuliElmo” fans fall “In Love Again” this love month as they reunite in a performance singing Stevie Hoang’s hit song during a Sunday variety show where both artists are mainstays.
Netizens, in particular, were already excited on the reunion of Julie Anne and Elmo onscreen even before the day of the performance which made the #JuliElmoReunion trend on Twitter, both in the Philippines and worldwide.
“I was really excited when I saw the news online the night before the big ‘JuliElmo’ performance. I really missed seeing them perform together,” said student and fan Hajilyn Javier. “Thank you, Smart, for reuniting them again. It was the perfect gift for all of us this Valentine’s season.”
Prior to the duet of Julie Anne and Elmo, the two also appeared as endorsers for a commercial of wireless leader Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) for its new offer, the AT20, now made better with all-day chat and surf.
“Smart believes Julie Anne and Elmo perfectly personify what Smart’s newest offer stands for—making everything better,” said Joel Lumanlan, Smart Prepaid marketing head.
